Moon Dog Recalls Son of a Plum Sour Ale
Last week Abbotsford’s Moon Dog Brewing advised the public that a specific batch of their Son of a Plum Peach n Plum Sour Ale “may have experienced a secondary fermentation in the bottle causing excessive carbonation, and a risk that removal of the bottle cap could potentially result in injury”.
A quick scan of the Untappd check-ins for this brew, would seem to confirm/validate that some of this batch was indeed over-carbed.
As a precautionary measure, Moon Dog announced via their website, and a Facebook post, that they were “conducting a product recall for Son of a Plum bottles with best before dates of 15/08/2019, 16/08/2019 and 06/09/2019”
Going on to say that “Customers should not open the bottles and should instead return the product to the place of purchase, or to the Moon Dog brewery, for a full refund.”
The product has been sold at Dan Murphy’s, pubs, clubs, hotels and bottle shops in all states and territories across Australia.
