Almost Famous – Singapore

Opening in December 2018, Almost Famous is the brain child of former barista, Kenny Lee, and three of his young entrepreneurial colleagues. Who were looking to introduce craft beer to a wider, more commercial, beer-drinking crowd.

Taking its namesake from emphasising progression, and constant improvement. The interior of ‘Almost’, is fitted out in stark, minimalist, gallery-like tones. With the deliberate intention of eliminating as many distractions as possible. Allowing people focus on the primary subject of beer. The only colour added to the venue, were neutral toned plants. Used to soften the space, and mimic the look of malts and barley used in craft beer.

Almost Famous has a great line up of 16 regularly rotating taps, featuring regional, and international, independent brewers such as Pirate Life Brewing (Australia), Stone & Wood Brewing Co. (Australia), Brewlander & Co. (Singapore), Pasteur Street Brewing Company (Vietnam), Young Master Brewery (Hong Kong), Heretic Brewing Company (USA), and BrewDog (Scotland).

For those not into beer, there is a small selection of house wines ($10) and Moscato ($10), along with soft drinks.

From a dining perspective, the compact Almost Famous food menu consists of eight selections, allowing each item to shine in its own right. Inclusing tasty snacks such as Tom Yum Gyoza ($10), Encierro Garlic Wings ($27) and Chicken & Waffles ($14).
