Bel-Aire Tavern – Nelson
# CLOSED #
Originally built for a millionaire in 1948, the Bel Aire Tavern had a former life as an office for a car yard, and then a “party house”.
Situated in the seaside suburb of Tahunanui, the 1940s art-deco building has had a long history in Nelson at locations all over the city. The building had been in dire disrepair in its original Collingwood St location, before it was moved to Brook Valley, where it was stored for three years and then shifted to its current location in Tahunanui.
The Bel-Aire sports a massive 27 tap set-up, offering a host of the finest craft beers and ciders in the region. Along with a superb choice of regional wines, spirits, cocktails, and juices, they also offer free inhouse WiFi.
Foodwise, the Bel-Aire’s snack menu includes Spicy Beef Nachos, Samosas and Spring Rolls, Wedges and Sour Cream plus a choice of Wood-fired Pizzas. Alternatively, they can phone through your order off the menus of the best local eateries including The Hot Rock Gourmet Pizza Pasta Bar, Thai Tahuna, Taj Indian and The Sands Fish & Chips.
